Snowboarding technology can be difficult to understand and even more difficult to keep knowledgeable on the latest technology. Each year snowboard brands come out with new technology that is unique to their brand. Check this guide for definitions and explanations to make your snowboarding experience more enjoyable.
0m- 60 Base
Found on our urban boards, this base is all about acceleration down the drop-in and getting up to speed quickly. It doesnt have the highest top-end speed, but it will get you to the lip in a short distance faster than anything else. Plus, its tough and stands up to metal, stairs, and cement ledges.
10:45™

Blown Light Classic

Just like its undergarment namesake, this anatomically correct strap keeps everything stable at speed. Softer foam padding and real synthetic leather add luxury, while a 3D spine adds natural contour for continual comfort.
Bst Torque Stringer Technology
Curved along the sidecut, stringers made of lightweight, high-pop basalt add longitudinal and torsional power
Bubbler Strap
Plush comfort even cranked to 11 or just hanging your board from the chair. The Bubbler strap brings comfort with its thick padding and 3D interior spine.
Buck
Intense and fun, usually in reference to a trick. Can also be said as: "buck wild" or "get buck".
Butter
It’s a trick where you ride on only one portion of your board while raising the rest up above the snow, like a skateboard manual.
Buttercup
Providing a loose, catch-free ride, Buttercup lifts the contact points in the nose and tail off the snow, creating a mellow hull effect. Perfect for a day lapping the park and buttering the mountain or when some deep freshies come into play.

Carbon A Frames
Arbor's durability technology that involves a built in "X" of carbon fiber stripes running diagonally from end to end, but with a gap at the board's center. So it actually looks like two V's on their sides.

Rides Carbon Array™ power distribution technology provides total board control in every stance location. Widespread carbon stringers are placed at the binding zone gather input from any stance width and all pressure angles. Chassis
Rides 100% aircraft grade 6061 Aluminum Alloy delivers unsurpassed lightweight durability.
Chord
Groomed snow. Also known as corduroy, corduroy snow, or riding the corduroy.
Chunder
Chunky snow, often used to refer to avalanche debris. Or the saddest day in snowboarding when you arrive to your destination the day after a large dump of fresh snow that has been rained on and then frozen over night. Chunder is worse than crud snow.
Cleave Edge
Nearly 50% more steel, delivers unmatched resistance to edge cracking and can be detuned to larger radii.
Combo Platter
All the power and pop with added forgiveness. With the same pop, edge grip, and stable landing platform as camber, combined with the forgiving and playful ride of rocker, Combo Platter ends the camber vs. rocker debate forever. This completely new profile has 3.75 centimeter wide platters running 25 centimeters along each edge, located just under the toes and heels of your feet. By lifting the edges up off the snow 2 millimeters in those key areas, the board has a less catchy feel but still maintains smooth grip and control when you put it on edge. This profile is rounded out by a powerful nose and tail for big takeoffs and landings.

Directional Shape

Fusion 1500
The industry standard, its wax absorbing and easy to repair.
Fusion 4000

Gaper
Refers to a person that has no style or skills. Usually new to the sport or a weekend warrior.
Gaper Gap
The space between the top of your goggle frame and your beanie (which hopefully there is none). A Gaper Gap can result in a odd looking sunburn or extremely cold forehead.
Gas Pedal™
This extendable ramp heightens toe-edge response while reducing dreaded toe drag.
Gate
The entrance to off piste terrain or "backcountry" runs.
Glass
Ride takes stitched glass to new levels and tailors it to each boards needs. Our unique glass designs are flatter and more consistent; therefore they are stronger with no gaps or stretching as can be found in woven glass.

Gnar
This first member of the Gnar family is made entirely of high-grade aspen. The lightweight, vertical wood laminates reduce overall board weight while still providing a responsive ride. Grainbelt technology adds critical strength under the bindings. Also, short for gnarly, used when something is challenging but fun.
Gnarle
Alternating aspen with 18% Sustainable Lightweight Wood stringers, this core provides both a lively ride and powerful ollie. Grainbelt technology adds snap-resistant strength in the critical impact zone between the bindings.
Golden Fleece
We now look forward to a day when fiberglass is no longer an ingredient of Lib Tech snowboards. There are several dangerous elements, such as boron and others, used to produce fiberglass.
