Welcome to my world of art! I'm David Gonzales, a Chicano artist who has been creating art for over 30 years. I've worked in a variety of mediums, including airbrushing, illustration, and toy design. I first came up in the T-shirt business in 1991 with my company, Gonzales Graphics. We started out selling our shirts at swap meets and liquor stores, and eventually expanded into major retailers like Hot Topic and Urban Outfitters. We were one of the first companies to create Chicano-style urban and lowrider tees, and we quickly became a staple in the Chicano community. In 1998, I left the T-shirt business to focus on my rapidly growing Homies Empire. Homies are a line of collectible toy figurines that I created based on the characters from my own life experiences. Homies have become a global phenomenon, with fans all over the world. After 10 years of focusing on Homies, I'm excited to be back in the T-shirt business with my new brand, DGA. DGA stands for David Gonzales Art, and it represents my commitment to creating high-quality, original art that celebrates Chicano culture. I'm inspired by the work of other Chicano artists, such as Teen Angel, Mike Pickel, and David Mann. I also draw inspiration from my own life experiences, growing up in the streets of Los Angeles. My art is a reflection of my passion for life, my commitment to social justice, and my love for Chicano culture. I'm excited to share my new work with you, and I hope that you'll join me on my journey to retake my throne as the true veterano of the Chicano art industry. Thank you for your support!
