Founded in San Diego in 1985 by legendary board shaper Rusty Preisendorfer, Rusty started with surfboards and a community of skaters, musicians, and artists. The iconic R-dot logo quickly became a symbol of surf culture, seen everywhere from local beaches to international competitions. By 1987, Rusty expanded into apparel, bringing tees, hoodies, and beachwear that reflected the lifestyle of the coast.
